Supporting You Through Birth, Postpartum, & Parenthood

Bringing a baby into the world is arguably the biggest transformation you’ll ever go through.

But let’s be honest - between the overwhelming advice, the medical system’s one-size-fits-all approach, and the fear-based stories you’ve heard, it can feel like you're navigating this journey blindfolded.

That’s where I come in.

I'm Candy Elsbeth!

I'm your personal Birth & Postpartum Journey Navigator.

I help pregnant people feel confident preparing for birth, so they can bring their baby into the world in a way that feels right for them. I also guide parents through the postpartum period and the rest of their parenting journey—because thriving (not just surviving) is possible.

Whether you’re preparing for birth, navigating feeding struggles, or looking for a holistic approach to tongue tie, I offer expert, compassionate support tailored to you.

Can you relate to any of these?

  • Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or unprepared for birth
  • Wanting to understand your options and feel in control of your experience
  • Seeking a positive, empowering birth—without unnecessary interventions
  • Struggling with postpartum recovery and feeling unsupported
  • Facing feeding challenges with your baby due to tongue tie and wanting a real solution

If any of this sounds familiar, you’re in the right place.

Why work with me?

Unlike the generic, medicalised approach to birth and postpartum care, I bring a unique combination of medical expertise, insider knowledge of the healthcare system, and a deep commitment to holistic, person-centered care.

→ As a registered nurse, I bridge the gap between clinical care and holistic support, ensuring you get the best of both worlds.

→ I’ve completed FEDANT-approved antenatal training (this is the gold standard for antenatal educators in the UK), so you get evidence-based guidance.

→ I trained with Carmelle Gentle, ensuring that my tongue tie approach prioritizes full tongue function—not just a quick snip and a leaflet.

→ As a mother of three, I know firsthand what it’s like to navigate birth and parenthood. I combine lived experience with years of research to bring you the support I wish I’d had.

How I Can Support You

Pregnancy Support

Pregnancy is an incredible journey, but it can also feel overwhelming—especially when you're navigating all the advice, choices, and emotions that come with it. I’m here to help you feel confident, informed, and empowered every step of the way. I work with expectant parents through in-person workshops, online courses, and 1:1 services. Together we'll ensure that you feel confident preparing for birth and empowered to make the decisions that are right for you and your family. You don’t have to do this alone. Whether you’re looking for guidance on preparing for labour, support in making decisions, or simply a community of like-minded parents, I’m here to help you feel strong and supported as you prepare to meet your baby.

Postpartum Support

The early days of parenting can be a blur of exhaustion, uncertainty, and big emotions. But you don’t have to do it alone. I provide guidance so you can:

→ Feel confident in feeding (breast/ chest, bottle, or combination)

→ Recover well and prioritise your own healing

→ Navigate the emotional ups and downs with practical strategies and support

Holistic Tongue Tie Support

If your baby is struggling with feeding, reflux, colic, or discomfort, tongue tie could be the culprit. My approach ensures:

→ A comprehensive assessment, focusing on full tongue function—not just appearance

→ Performing of tongue tie division, when required

→ Pre- and post-division support to prevent reattachment / scar tissue challenges and optimise results

→ The aim will always be full tongue function and relief of struggles with comprehensive follow up(s) to achieve this (no “snip the tongue tie and off you go with a leaflet!”)

Yoga

I specialise in yoga for women and folks with uteruses. Including pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and menopause support. Yoga is about about connecting with your body and your breath. Building strength and flexibility, in your own way, at your own pace. It’s a fantastic stress buster. And a great way to care for yourself.

The cost of not looking after ourselves can be catastrophic, leading to ill health both short term and sometimes life long. Take time out of your week to unwind and relax. Take time for just you.

Your journey into parenthood should feel empowering—not overwhelming. If you’re ready to take control of your birth experience, navigate postpartum with ease, and get the right support for your baby’s needs, I’m here to help.

Episode 57: What do you need to know about neurodivergent birth? with Victoria White

In this episode of the Nourishing Birth and Beyond Podcast I interview Victoria White, founder of Neurodivergent Birth, about the challenges and needs faced by neurodivergent people navigating pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Victoria shares her personal journey, the motivation behind creating a social enterprise to support neurodivergent families, and the development of training and resources for both professionals and expectant parents. We dive into topics like the lack of tailored support in maternity care, the importance of intersectionality, the four pillars of neurodivergent birth (sensory processing, communication, executive functioning, and mental health), and the need for accessible, evidence-based information. Our conversation also highlights the significance of partner support, the impact of privilege and systemic issues, and the value of individualised care plans and resources.

Episode 56: Understanding and Treating Mastitis with Amy

In this discussion, Amy shares her recent, more severe experience with mastitis compared to a previous mild blocked duct, describing the sudden onset of pain, systemic symptoms, and the challenges of managing illness while caring for a young child. Candy provides support and up-to-date advice, including the shift from hot/cold compresses to treating mastitis as an inflammatory condition (similar to a sprained ankle), the cautious use of antibiotics, and the importance of rest, hydration, and gentle lymphatic massage. The conversation highlights the uncertainty around when to start antibiotics, the impact of illness on daily life, and the value of personalised, holistic support for lactating parents navigating mastitis.
