Birth Tools Workshop

Next Dates:

Sunday 13 July 2025, 1.30-4.30pm

Sunday 26 October 2025, 1.30-4.30pm

 Eastergate Village Hall

A practical in person, workshop equipping you and your birth partner
with evidenced-based techniques you’ll actually use during labour.
Leave feeling confident, with a variety of tools to support you to birth your baby safely.

In this jam packed half day workshop, you’ll  leave with an array of techniques in your birth tool kit. What you learn will not only help improve your birth experience, it will encourage you to trust your instincts and embrace your natural birthing abilities.

This isn’t a “cookie-cutter” approach, it’s a chance to learn all the different ways you can support yourself in labour, and then choose what’s right for you.

The Birth Tools Workshop will give your birth partner/ support person a clear guide to how they can best support you in the final weeks or pregnancy as well as in labour.

"I just wanted to say a massive thank you for all your help and such an amazing course. I found it incredibly helpful and it made me feel very at ease. I would recommend it to anyone, it was fantastic"

Expectant Dad

You Were Born To Birth Your Baby

The reason you feel unsure, maybe even scared of birth is probably because of the dramatised image of birth you’ve likely witnessed your entire life. From TV programmes and movies, to stories of birth from others who haven’t had the most positive experience. Having a positive birth experience is completely possible for you – you just need to understand how to support your body and mind so you can step out of your own way.

How is this different from other birth courses?

While NCT, NHS antenatal courses, and hypnobirthing provide valuable foundations, they only scratch the surface of what’s possible. There’s a wealth of additional knowledge and tools that can transform your birth experience beyond what these standard courses offer.

The Birth Tools Workshop bridges this gap. Using tools and techniques that have been used for generations around the world, that work with your body’s natural processes rather than against them.

"The practical element of going through poses and breathing, ways of building the oxytocin bubble, really helped my partner feel more prepared in his role in labour and birth. And that he had clear ways he was needed and could support and not be a third wheel. As well as how to advocate for our choices and how he can support me and bub at all times."

If we haven't met yet,
Hi I'm Candy

I’m here to help you cut through the noise and come back to what matters:

Feeling calm, capable, and confident as you prepare to birth your baby in a way that feels right for you.

I offer realistic, honest, and supportive pregnancy education that helps you understand how birth works and what you can do to feel confident and in control.

I work with my clients in a variety of ways and this workshop is just one.

My approach is bespoke to every family because your bodies, beliefs, needs, and preferences are unique and so your approach to birth should be, too. You won’t find any cookie-cutter advice or “just breathe through it” here. I bring together:

Medical expertise as a Registered Nurse with 20 years experience I know how the NHS works and why it doesn't work for everyone

Accredited antenatal training (FEDANT approved)

Lived experience as a mum of three

A holistic approach that balances science with intuition, and preparation with flexibility

“Candy is a calm and caring pair of hands in the lead up to birth. She really helped us feel prepared, understanding all the options and techniques.”

What will you learn?

Breathwork & Visualisation: Discover how your breath can help you stay calm, relaxed, as well as encourage your body's nature pain relief, your birth hormones, during labour. Explore visualisation and how it can apply to your birth to support your body and mind.

Relaxation & Natural Labour Progression: Learn techniques to ease tension and keep your mind calm during contractions, allowing you to stay relaxed and centered (yes, really!)

Understanding Your Body’s Natural Rhythm: Knowledge is power. By understanding how your body works during birth, you’ll feel more confident and able to lean into the natural progression of labour. You’ll leave the workshop knowing your body was designed to give birth and feel confident in yourself as you proceed on this journey.

Yoga Movements: Going beyond what we cover in our pregnancy yoga classes, these gentle movements help encourage baby’s descent, relieve discomfort, and keep you active without overexerting yourself.

Birth Partner Techniques: We’ll cover massage and techniques your birth partner can use to support you through each contraction, ensuring they feel confident and useful, and you can feel supported and relaxed.

The Rebozo: Learn about this must-have tool to help ease discomfort during pregnancy and labour, as well as helping encourage baby into an optimal birthing position. Something so simple, yet can be such a game changer for your journey.

“Candy is amazing!....She is so kind, approachable and welcoming, and makes you feel at ease. No question is silly and her knowledge and expertise as a qualified nurse is so reassuring and much needed throughout pregnancy!.... I would highly recommend Candy to anyone going through pregnancy.”

The Benefits of Participating:

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a toolkit full of techniques to support you during labour, feel empowered to make decisions about birth that are right for you, and trust your body’s natural ability to birth. You’ll leave knowing exactly what to do, how to manage discomfort, and how to invite your birth partner to play an active role in your experience.

Don’t let fear, uncertainty, or lack of preparation hold you back. You’re capable of so much more than you think—and this workshop will give you the knowledge and confidence to move forward with ease.
